Arrested Development pair sign up for Cal

Original video content for Activision's subscriber-based Call of Duty Elite service is set to be created by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman of acclaimed US sitcom Arrested Development. The Hollywood Reporter reveals Arnett is set to visit September's Call of Duty XP fan event to show off the content, and the man himself told the publication he's a big gamer."When you look at my time spent gaming, versus other entertainment outlets, I probably spend more time gaming," he said. "Videogames are a real outlet that need to be taken seriously." Elite is set to launch alongside Modern Warfare 3 this autumn and will offer a mixture of free and subscription features, including social network offerings, a Halo Waypoint-style performance tracker, and extra content including downloadable map packs as part of the paid service (more details here). In the service's original announcement Activision Publishing boss Eric Hirshberg told the Guardian the firm's "engaged some top Hollywood talent to create linear video content that will be exclusive to Elite members. "That content is inspired by Call of Duty," he said. Andy Robinson
